Xiaomi Redmi tease a smartphone with a 64 MP camera

Xiaomi Redmi will soon introduce a smartphone equipped with a 64 MP photo sensor. The brand has just teased the model on its Weibo account. For the moment, we do not know the identity of the sensor that will be used but it's a safe bet that Redmi will rely on the new module ISOCELL Bright GW1 Samsung, the only photo sensor 64 MP has been formalized to date .

The smartphone officially entered the era of 64 million pixels, it is through this message that Redmi tease his first smartphone equipped with a photo model offering this definition. Xiaomi brand is not the only one already engaged in this new race for megapixels while the photo sensors of 48 MP have not yet finished democratizing. Realme had gone on his own teasing a few weeks ago by presenting a 64-megapixel photo shot on his next "killer premium flagship".

In its publication, Xiaomi also presents a photo taken with the new sensor, as you can see in the image at the end of the article. The Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 64 megapixel is currently the only sensor on the market to produce images of such a definition. Thanks to the Korean manufacturer's Tetracell technology that improves light sensitivity, the sensor is able to deliver 16 MP net shots in very low light conditions. The 64 megapixels, meanwhile, can be used when the light conditions are optimal.

For now, Redmi has not yet specified the smartphone that will be entitled to the new sensor, but it could be the Redmi K30 or more likely the next Redmi Note 8. As a reminder, the current Redmi Note 7 is already operating a sensor photo of 48 MP, one of its main assets.
